Since 1996, the Culture Carnival in Berlin-Kreuzberg draws around half a million visitors for four days of intercultural fun, food and music.
Unfortunately, a number of tenants living close to the festival feel disturbed even though the event closes at midnight.
was asked in 2003 to work with the organizer and the local authorities to find solutions to both protect the tenants' rights and still allow sufficient levels for the live-music stages.
A combination of optimized sound systems (L-Acoustic ARCS and dV-DOSC), sound insulation for the stages, time-controlled level limiters, improved stage positions and some changes in the program made significant improvements both sides possible.
